Sailing Beyond Ordinary, From the Very Beginning

Elysian Sailing was created by Richard Reeves to share a simple idea: that boutique sailing can be as effortless, cultural and gastronomic as it is unforgettable. With a background in major international projects and a lifelong passion for the sea, Richard discovered luxury yacht sailing in the Caribbean and knew instantly — this is for me. After qualifying as a Coastal Skipper and chartering across the Mediterranean and Caribbean, he set out to craft a new kind of journey: curated sailing experiences that blend culture, cuisine and quiet luxury, without the complexity of ownership or the need for sailing expertise.

Elysian Sailing builds on the heritage of Richard’s earlier venture, Essential Sailing, which pioneered this approach to crewed yacht holidays. Today, Elysian Sailing re-imagines that spirit for a new era — with fresh itineraries, modern yachts, and a hand-picked network of crews and charter partners — offering guests a seamless way to explore some of the world’s most beautiful coastlines in style and comfort..

Elysian remains intentionally personal. Richard works closely with a trusted circle of charter partners across the Mediterranean, Canary Islands and Caribbean, curating each journey with care and — whenever possible — welcoming guests at the start of their voyage. Where he is not present, guests are welcomed by a trusted local Elysian representative, working closely with the crew and charter team to ensure a calm, well-orchestrated beginning to their time on board..
